Walter Edward Bruns died on April 20, 1993.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Marines, the Army and the Air National Guard. He was a retired salesman and repaired small engines and appliances. He had served as a Justice of the Peace in Crawford County. He attended the Trinity Episcopal Church, was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ocie Bruns; Brothers, James Albert, Frederick 'Pete', Herman R.,Twins, Bill and Henry; one sister, Cora Pauline Lambert.
He is survived by his wife, Freda May Syrock Bruns of the home. 3 children, Alan E. of Tulsa, Lyndall Katherine Moon of Colorado Springs, and Terry Lee Bruns. He is also survived by 2 step children, Joe Shepherd and Anthony Zucchero, both of Van Buren; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He is survived by Brothers, Francis of Waco Texas and Antone of Los Angeles, CA and Bob Bruns of Van Buren. Two sisters, Caroline Allen and Hermie Smith of Van Buren.
Funeral services were held in Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.

Freda Mae Syrock Bruns, 88, of Van Buren passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Summit Medical Center.
She was a member of City Heights United Methodist Church. She retired from the insurance department at Sparks Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Shepherd and Tony Zuchero of Van Buren; one grandson, Brian Shepherd of Van Buren; two sisters, Lorene Scott of Van Buren and Louise Thomas of Mountainburg; and one brother, Jasper Syrock Jr. of Ponder, Texas.
She was the daughter of the late Jasper Syrock and Leona Faldon Syrock.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with the Rev. Randy Miller officiating.
Family will visit with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery no committal service scheduled.
