Virgia L. Jones-Brown, 89, of Van Buren died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Fort Smith. She was born Oct. 20, 1919, in Duncan, Okla. She was a retired accountant for Sears Roebuct & Co., a lifetime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and a daughter of an original Cherokee enrollee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Luther and Ruth Seabolt; two husbands, Jacob Jones and Claud Brown; brother, Martin Luther Seabolt Jr; and a great-grandson, Logan McAllister.

She is survived by a companion, Donald Mangrum of Fort Smith; three daughters, Grenetta Bray and her husband, Renard, of Garfield, Martha Chapman of Alma and Mary McAllister and her husband, Robert, of Springdale; eight grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robert Presley II, Brian Dean, Derek Froehlich, Gaylen Howard, Kevin Blythe, Michael McAllister and Rodger Jones. The family will visit with friends at the home of Martha Chapman on Sunday afternoon.
