Thell John Brown, 81,of Fort Smith, Arkansas died Sunday, May 30, 1993, at a Van Buren, Arkansas hospital. He was a retired furniture upholster for Kay Chair Company, a member of the 88 Freewill Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral services was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Crowder, the Rev. Gilbert Pixley and the Rev. Rupert Pixley officiated.
He is survived by his wife, Belva; two sons; four sisters; one brother and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.

Belva Pixley Brown, 93 of Ft. Smith, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in a local nursing home.
She was a homemaker and a retired dietitian for Haven O Rest, Oaks Lodge & the Armour Avenue Nursing Homes, and a member of the Armour Avenue First Freewill Baptist Church.
She was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thell Brown.
She is survived by two sons, Wykema Brown of Barling and Rex Brown & wife, Janie both of Alma; four grandchildren, Keith Brown & wife Bettina, Wesley Jone, Tammy Cholousky & husband Mark, Elizabeth McClain & husband Cris; six great grandchildren, Jeff Jones, Kristen & Gracie Cholousky, Mia & Emily Brown and Tobyn McClain.
Pallbearers will be Keith Brown, Wesley Jones, Ron Wilcox, Dale Gentry, Cris McClain and Dale Franklin.
Funeral services were held at Armour Avenue First Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, December 26, 2009, with the Rev. Ernie Imler officiating. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery.
