Norma Jean Brasuell, 87, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Van Buren.
She was born February 28, 1929 in Van Buren to the late Dewey and Mae Ray.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband W.C. (Dumpy), a son, Monte, and a grandson, Kyle Hamby.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She always had a smile on her face and kind words to say about everyone. She spent 34 years of her adult life as a dedicated caregiver to her quadriplegic son, Monte. She was kind, strong, generous and faithful. She was truly one of a kind. Her greatest attribute was her devout love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Carrie Horne and husband Richard, and Susie McClaren and husband Randy; four sons, Glen Brasuell, Robin Brasuell, Jerry Don Brasuell and wife Rhonda, and Jimmy (Gomer) Brasuell and wife Katrina; a sister, Polly and husband Bobby; three brothers, Emil Ray and wife Barbara, Richard Ray and wife Martha, and Jerry Ray and wife Nancy; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren all of Van Buren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jerry Brasuell, Derek Brasuell, Randy McClaren, Cory McClaren, Jimmy "Bubba" Brasuell, and Tyler Jackson.

Monte Ray Brasuell was the first born son of W.C. Brasuell & Norma Jean Ray Brasuell of Van Buren, Ar.
Monte was preceded in death by his Father W.C. "Dumpy" Brasuell.
He is survived by his Brother's Glen,Robin,Jerry Don, & Jimmy"Gomer" Brasuell & two Sister's Carrie Horn & Susie McClaren all of Van Buren,Ar & a host of Aunts, Uncle, & Cousins..Many friends who remainded by his side through the years.
He was an outstanding Pointer Football Player & Loved the Arkansas Razorbacks..Monte loved camping with his Dad & brother's, hunting & fishing..Most of all he loved his family & they all loved him back & took excellent care of him until his departure to Heaven...Rest in Peace...
