Howard Alexander, 66, of Van Buren, died Friday, March 28, 1986 in a Fort Smith hospital.
He was born in Dripping Springs community, he was the son of the late Rev. Guy and Laura Alexander.
He was a lifelong Crawford County resident, he was co-owner of Shelter Insurance Agency in Van Buren. He was a member of the Fairview Cemetery Board.
Surviving him was his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Gail Whitmire of Van Buren; a son, Hill of Van Buren; three sisters, Mildred Thompson of Van Buren, Verna Jean Turner of Russellville and Frances Hedrick of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Lt. Col R.T. Marvin of Cooperas Cove, Texas, and Nelson of Sacramento, California, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry, who died in 1974.
Funeral services were held at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with the Rev Johnny Clayton and Murl Walker officiating.

Lillian Marie Hill Alexander, 75, of Van Buren, died Tuesday, November 9, 1999 at a local hospital. She was a member of North Park Baptist Church, a lifetime resident of Crawford County and a homemaker.
She was the widow of Howard Alexander.
She was survived by one daugher, Gail Whitmire of Van Buren; one son, Hill of Van Buren; one sister, Loree Moss of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, Jack Hill of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Ocker Funeral Home with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
