Leslie Grant Actkinson, 75, of Van Buren died Sunday June 26, 2005, at his home.
He was a member and chairman of the deacons of Eastern Heights Baptist Church where he was also a former music director. He also was a longtime member of the men's quartet of the Van Buren First Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired from Wonder Bread and the maintenance department of the Van Buren Public Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Gypsy Actkinson; two sons, Donald Actkinson of Colleyville, Texas, and Lindsey Actkinson of Van Buren; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service was held June 28 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Lee, Jacob and Chase Actkinson, Robert Fry, Tommy Pinkerton, Gene Essman, Gene Essman Jr. and Joe Edsel Smith. Honorary pallbearers were deacons and members of the Sunday school class of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
