Sarah E. Southmayd Wood was born in Van Buren in 1854 to Leonard Clay and Susannah R. Howell Southmayd.
She departed this life November 10, 1910.
She married George R. Wood in 1876 and was mother to five children; Susan, Clyman, James, Mattie and Annie.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
