James K. Smith Sr., 70, of Van Buren died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, in Fort Smith.
He was born April 1, 1944, in Haskell.

He was the widower of Betty Smith.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by four sons, Billy and James Smith Jr. both of Van Buren, Bobby Smith of Alma and Jeremy Keck of Fort Smith; four sisters, Dorothy Philpott of Higden, Joyce Welch of Hot Springs, Mary McElahaney of Lawton, Okla., and Janice Phillips of Haskell; a brother, David Smith of Conway; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Betty Lou Smith, 54, of Van Buren died Saturday, June 28, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital.

She was a homemaker.

Graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

She is survived by her husband, James; four sons, Jeremy Keck and James Smith Jr., both of Van Buren, and Bobby and Billy Smith, both of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mildred Britton of Judsonia and Lorene Russell of Benton; three brothers, Tommy Phillips of Fort Smith, James Phillips of Benton and Robert Phillips of Alma; and six grandchildren.
