Company I 1st Arkansas Infantry
1866 - 1898
Sherman Richardson was on furlough from the Spanish-American War and was visiting home. He decided to take a train to Fayetteville to visit his girlfriend. He wanted to save his money, so he went to hop a train ride and missed when he jumped, he fell and the train cut off both legs. He was taken to a Fayetteville hospital where he died.
