Elmer L. Reed, 80, of Van Buren, AR, died Sunday February 27, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born February 16, 1931 in Weston West Virginia.

He was a yard foreman at Dykes Brothers Lumber Co in Fort Smith, AR.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rudy Reed.

He is survived by two daughters, Pat Christian of Fort Smith, AR and Joyce Cook of Oklahoma City, OK; four sons, Elmer Reed Jr, Tony Reed of Union, MO, William Reed of Fort Smith, AR and James Reed of the home; three sisters, Ernestine Bean of Weston, WV, Eletta Moore of Fort Smith, AR and Earlene Flippin of Uniontown, AR; two brothers, Charles Reed of Van Buren, AR and Ernest (Hoppy) Reed of Van Buren, AR; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.

Graveside services were 2:00 P.M. Friday March 4, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Ruby REED, 76, of Van Buren, Ark., are being held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mrs. Reed died Monday, May 29, 2006, in a local hospital. Survivors include her husband, Elmer of the home; two daughters, Pat, and Joyce; four sons, Elmer, Jr., William, Tony, and James; one brother, Leo; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
