Funeral services for Elmo Hempstead, citizen and long time resident of Pleasant Hill Community, Chidester, will be held Wednesday, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, time 2 p.m. Mr. Hempstead's wife preceded him in death by a short while and he is survived by 5 sons Beltry Hempstead, Chidester, Bruce, Gentry, Roy and Nolan Hempstead of California. One brother Julius Hempstead, Camden, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Davis, Berkeley, California. (Camden News - March 4, 1968)
