1857 - 1924
Henry Francis Meyer was born in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1857, and moved to Van Buren with his mother.
He attended school in Van Buren and entered the mercantile establishment of J.W. Statler and later became the firm of Meyer and Hodges. In May of 1892, he was elected assistant cashier of Citizen's Bank in Van Buren. When Citizen's Bank & Trust consolidated in 1914, he was elected vice president, and served the bank for 27 years, resigning in 1919.
