September 10, 1946 - June 20, 1964
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Norphlet Methodist Church for Thomas Rex Burchfield, 17, of McNeil who drowned Saturday afternoon in a stock pond near his home while seining minnows. Young Burchfield was born Sept. 10, 1946 in Smackover and was the son of Eldridge and Imogene Henley Burchfield. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of McNeil. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Barbara Jean Burchfield of McNeil; and his maternal grandfather, Rex Henley of Norphlet. Burial was held in Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home of El Droado. (The El Dorado Times - June 22, 1964)
