Cardie Lowther, 89 years old, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 2, 1967 in a local hospital. He was born May 5, 1877 in Johnson county, Arkansas and had been a resident of Van Buren for 65 years. He was a retired conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and a 32 degree Mason.

Survivors are a half-sister, Mrs. Laura Ferrell of Lamar, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Fentress Mortuary chapel with T. M. Carroll pastor of the Wood Memorial Christian church, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Rex Higgins, W.M. Carruthers, John Selby, G.T. Selby, Roy Johnston, John Stewrt, R.M. McGlasson Sr, and R. M. McGlasson Jr.

MRS. MAME LOWTHER
Mrs. Mame Miller Lowther, 83 years old, died late Tuesday, May 8, 1962 at a Van Buren rest home after a long illness. She was a life-long resident of Van Buren, the daughter of the late William and Lucy Collins Miller. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Eastern Star and the Iris club.

Survivors are he husband, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lowther was a sister of the Late Hugh Miller who served as county treasurer for many years.

The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church with the pastor, Vernon Schmidt officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery with Fentress Mortuary in charge.
