SPRINGDALE — William "Bill" J. Samuelson, age 71, of Springdale died Nov. 29, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Eureka Springs, the son of Carl and Edith Clark Samuelson.

He was a member of Silent Grove Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher for a number of years. He was a retired salesman from the food industry and had served in the National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking, riding his tractor and his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold Samuelson and Robert Samuelson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Winters Samuelson of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Samuelson and Virginia of Cave Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Patrice Glur and Jeff of Lowell; two brothers, Charles Samuelson of California and Fred Samuelson of Nebraska; two sisters, Sally Lake of Oklahoma and Rosemary Kitchen of California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Brother Steven Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Silent Grove Baptist Church, 4123 Silent Grove Road, Springdale, AR 72762.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Glur, Jeff Glur, Keith Williford, Bob Jones, Billy Degge and Bill Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Lee and Price Harrell.

SPRINGDALE — Patricia Ann Samuelson Scruggs, age 79, of Springdale, Ark., went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2020, in Springdale. She was born Dec. 11, 1940, in St. Charles, Ark., the daughter of the late Milton Winters and Kathleen Winters Hart.

She was a retired office manager and worked at several banks. Mrs. Scruggs had served as a Sunday school teacher, song leader and in many other positions at Silent Grove Baptist Church and was a present member of Springdale Missionary Baptist Church.

She loved to garden, grow flowers, going to Branson for shopping and shows, singing, being a caregiver to others and sharing the gospel.

She was preceded by her first husband, William Samuelson, in 2009 and by two brothers.

She is survived by husband Luther Scruggs, of the home; son Brian Samuelson and wife Virginia of Cave Springs, Ark.; daughter Patrice Glur and husband Jeff of Lowell, Ark.; stepson Butch Scruggs and wife Sharon of Springdale, Ark.; stepdaughter Judy Isbell and husband Chris; brothers Robert Winters of Wichita, Kan., Timothy Garrison of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Greg Winters of Fort Worth, Texas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.

A private family graveside service will be at Elm Springs Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Garrison and Pastor Wes Hulvey officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Av., Springdale, Ark., 72762.
