Helen Dale (Kitchens) Walters of Sheridan, Arkansas was born in Gravely on October 28, 1939, daughter of the late John Lee and Gertrude Lucille Kitchens. She enjoyed gardening and was passionate about her flowers; people came from miles around to see her personal landscape work. She loved to bass fish and spend time with Woody, her beloved husband of 56 years, and her precious children and grandchildren.

Helen departed this life at the age of 78 on September 12, 2018 in the home of her daughter, Lisa, who lovingly cared for her until her last breath was taken. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Woody; brother, Rudolph Tarkington; sister, Marilyn Hopson; infant daughter, Terri Carmon Walters and great grandson, Mason Allen Walters.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Ellen) Walters of Sheridan, Lisa (Ricky) Pevey of Lead Hill, and Mark (Pam) Walters of Prattsville; grandchildren, Heather (Franklin) Swain, Joshua (Stormi) Walters, Brandi Jones (Shane Blasingame), Devin Walters, Whitney Walters (Zac Bolen), Reece Walters, and Dylan Hunter; great grandchildren, Brayden, Aubrey, Brycen, Abel, Ceryniti, and Remington; sister, Wana Dean (Winson) Sanders from Bristol, VA; brother-in-law, Willis Grover Hopson; sister-in-law, Sharon Tarkington; sisters-in-law, of 58 years, Sharon (Lon) Sheridan and Mary (Ronnie) Burroughs; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Hayden Davis, Reece Walters, Dylan Hunter, Brayden Swain, Joshua Walters, and Hunter Herring.

Honorary Pallbearer is Zack Harvey

Visitation is Saturday, September 22, from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Rev. George Swain of Evans, LA assisted by his grandson Bro. Franklin Swain of Sheridan, AR, officiating. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
