ROYAL -- TWana F. Powell, age 78, of Royal, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019.
She was born Sept. 25, 1941, in Frisco, Texas, the daughter of James Willard Grisham and Dodie Marie Harris Grisham. On June 13, 1960, she married Dedrick L. Powell, who preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2012, after 52 wonderful years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Alardin Powell; and her parents.
TWana was a member of the First Baptist Church of Royal, and served the Lord all of her life in her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who was loved by all that knew her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Peggy Powell; her grandson, Nathan Powell and Jesse Cook; and two great-grandchildren, Edison James Powell and Mary Krystle Cook, all of Royal; one brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Susie Grisham, of Royal; numerous nieces; nephews; extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Royal with Brother George Lynch officiating.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday until service time.
Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Pallbearers will be her church family.
A special thank you from the family to the nurses and staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
