Agnes Ruth McKinzie, 75, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away November 19, 2014. She was born January 1, 1939 in Boles, Arkansas to William A. and Cordelia Dollar.
She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Orbria Dollar, Jack Dollar, and Dick Dollar., two sisters, Camelia Davidson and Irene Barker and her husband of 38 years, John D. McKinzie. She was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and a member of the Rainbow Sunday School Class.
She is survived by one brother, Laudell Dollar, three sisters, Mary Mann, Betty Stafford, and Thelma (Perk) Thrash, five daughters, Sondra McCloud, Alfreda Perrine (Brian), Teresa Withers (Mike), Alma Gallagher (Jim), Joan Baker (John), two sons, John A. Jack Sr. (Cindy) and John D. McKinzie, Jr, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Called Nanny by those who loved her, she loved to dress up, dance, bake and sew. Her homemade rolls were a family favorite as well as her chicken and dumplins and german chocolate cake. She was involved in the Emblem Club, the Red Hat Society, and a frequent volunteer at the Caring Place where she delivered smiles, hugs and treats.
Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Hot Springs Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow the next day at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Gallimore officiating and the Hot Springs Emblem Club #194. The burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lake Hamilton Rehabilitation Center and Gentiva Hospice for their support and assistance in her final days.
