Carl Fredrick Linder was born on April 30, 1933 on the family homestead near Randolph, Kansas. He was taken home to Heaven on September 3, 2012. Carl was the son of Oscar and Amanda Bary Linder. He grew up and attended schools in the rural Randolph area. He married Nancy Dugan in 1953 and they had five daughters, living in Topeka and Auburn, KS . They later divorced and he moved to Emporia, KS, where he worked for Emporia State University for many years before moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1979. Carl married Claudette Cox Caldwell on October 11, 1984 in Hot Springs, AR, and she survives of the home. Carl worked for the Arkansas Rehabilitation Center, Hot Springs, AR until his retirement in 1994. Carl and Claudette lived in rural Hot Springs, AR before moving to Alta Vista, Kansas in November 2011, to be closer to his daughters.
Carl is survived by his loving wife Claudette; his six daughters: Donna Linder of Hope, KS; Cathy and Glen Swartz of Alta Vista, KS; Bonnie Bogard of Champaign, IL; Carla Swartz of Alta Vista, KS; Terri Brown of Topeka, KS, and Jessica and Joe Foux of Hot Springs, AR, and six step children: Ralph Smith of Amity, AR; Linda Hughes, Riley Caldwell, Mary Dean and Matthew Caldwell of Hot Springs, AR, and Mark Linder of Aberdeen, MS. He is also survived by a sister; Barbara Hanson of Randolph, KS, as well as 30 grandchildren and 22 great grand children and many wonderful friends in the Hot Springs and Alta Vista communities. He was preceded in death by his grandson Jason Swartz.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Alta Vista Baptist Church. Carl will be laid to rest at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR.
