Anita Gene Head, age 76 of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 27, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Ernest and Mary Edith Echols. She married the love of her life, Charles Owen Head, in October 1970 who preceded her death in 1999.
Anita was born and raised in Hot Springs. She was educated at Magnet Cove Public School. She worked in the accounting department at Weyerhaeuser for 40+ years.
Anita was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Gigi”.
Anita is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Brandee and Jeff Scott of Hot Springs; daughter Crisann Biffle of Indianapolis; son Steve Head of Memphis; son Mike Head of Las Vegas; grandchildren Jacey Scott, Brandon Biffle, Alicia Head, Brittney Head and Mikayla Head; and her loving yorkie, Sophie.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Divers and Genesis Cancer Center for all the care, love and support their mother received during her illness.
A private family memorial will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Promise Cancer Resources at 133 Harmony Park Circle, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913 in her honor.
