Martha
February 4, 1924 - January 22, 2012

Martha Olga Fetting, nee Kassulat, age 87, of Hot Springs, died, Sunday, January 22, 2012. She was born on February 4, 1924 in Lithuania to her late parents, Peter Kassulat and Ane Neuman Kassulat. Martha was a proud member of the First Lutheran Church, Hot Springs, since she and her husband, Julius, retired to Hot Springs 28 years ago from Chicago, Illinois. She sang in the choir for many years, and was an active member and coordinator of the Son Shine Circle. She loved to do God's work with her hands, and made countless items to be distributed to the needy throughout Hot Springs, various other states and countries. Her hands were never idle; she felt she always had to do for the under-privileged. She was a true child of God. She knew God had saved her numerous times in World War II, that she wanted to give back, and, give back she did, all of her life. One of Martha's many passions was her love of flowers and plants, which she cultivated and pampered outside and in her home. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Ane Kassulat; her husband, Julius Fetting; one daughter, Waltraud Lampe; one grandson, Torsten Lampe; one brother, John Kasiulis; two sisters, Elena Girdvainis, and Anna Langas. Martha is survived by her brother, Richard Kassulat (Ingrid) of North Barrington, Illinois; one son, John Fetting (Carol), of Romeoville, Illinois; three daughters, Eva Wenzel (Herman), of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Lydia Oller (Jorge), of Redondo Beach, California and Renee Healey (Bud), of Bradenton, Florida; her son-in-law, Konrad Lampe (Gerlind) of Germany; six grandchildren, Adam Wenzel (Karen), Eric Wenzel (Marcia), Brian Fetting, Jessica Dell'Aquilla (Tony), Lisa Fetting, Morgan Healey; four great-grandchildren, Jack Fetting, Jamie Fetting, Valerie Wenzel and Gavin Wenzel; her sister-in-law, Eva Kasiulis of Canada; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and countless friends in the United States of America, Lithuania, Canada, Germany and Norway. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the First Lutheran Church, Hot Springs with Dr. Jonathan Beyer officiating. Visitation will be held just prior to the service at the church from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be held in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Pallbearers will be Herman Wenzel, Jorge Oller, Bud Healey, Adam Wenzel, Eric Wenzel and Al Girdvainis. An extra heart felt thank you, to her very special, dear friends and helpers, Kathy and Don Sanders and Lorene Burroughs for your love and support. Also, and extra special thank you to her loving caregivers, Doris Jordon, Vickey Lane, Dorothy Beryahi, Rosanna Poteete, Tina Langley, Jennifer Shaffer and Brittany Fleming. We will be forever grateful to you all, for the kindness and love you have shown to our Mother, Martha. Honorary pallbearers will be Arkansas Hospice and 5th floor staff, her most caring nurse, Jon Gunnell and her chaplain, "Doc". In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her honor to the First Lutheran Church, 105 Village Road, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913 or Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901.
