Lola - February 11, 1894 - March 8, 1963
Mrs. Lola Holmes, aged 69 of 700 Hilltop died in a Camden hospital at 11:25 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Holmes was a native of Dallas County. She had lived in Camden for two years, and was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Cleve Holmes; three sons, Rufus Holmes of Bearden, Lamar Holmes of Bakersfield, California, and Paul Holmes of Camden; four daughters, Mrs. J. D. Shirey, and Mrs. James A. Stabler, and Mrs. John McClelland both of Camden; by 16 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Holly Springs Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Robert H. Jackson. Burial will be in the Holly Springs cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. The body will remain at the funeral home until service time. (Camden News - March 10, 1963)
