Stan Carlson

BELLA VISTA -- Stan Carlson, 77, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 18, 2011. Stan was born in Coleridge, Neb., Dec. 6, 1933.

He graduated from Schaller High School, Schaller, Iowa, in 1953, and attended Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, Neb., in 1954. Stan married Marie (Hobart) Carlson on July 6, 1958, and they resided in Storm Lake, Iowa, until they retired and moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1994.

Stan was employed at Hygrade Foods, IDS and Sara Lee Corp. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Toastmasters, Moose Lodge and Elks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family camping, bowling, golfing and coin collecting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alta Carlson, and his brother, George Carlson.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Marie, he is survived by children, Gary Carlson (Cindy), Karen Hartman (David), Kathy Burnett (David), Bill Carlson (Terry); and five grandchildren, Elsey, Ethan, Tyler, Grace and Will.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, Ark.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made io Stan's name to the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715; or to Habitat for Humanity of Benton County Inc., 908 S.E. 21st St., Bentonville, AR 72712.
