*Obituary
EVA JANE CLEMENTINE "EVIE" ANDERSON MOORE, daughter of Nelson Frederick "Dutch" Anderson and Mary Minerva Massey Anderson, was born December 29, 1872, in Crawford County, Arkansas (probably near Cedarville). The family pronounced Eva's name as "Evie." Evie Anderson lived with her brother Frank, after the death of her mother in 1881, until her own marriage in 1889.
She married William Andrew Moore on October 26, 1889. Nora Anderson Batchelor, niece of Eva, said: "Aunt Evie had 2 sons. She died when one baby was born. Both Aunt Evie and the baby were buried at Old Salem Cemetery in unmarked graves." The oldest of the two children of William Andrew and Evie was named Nelson Moore, 1892-1962, (Find-A-Grave Memorial #28765202). The baby, who was buried with Eva Anderson Moore in Old Salem, when she died from childbirth complications, is believed to have been named Jesse. After Evie's death, her son Nelson was taken by his father to Dora, Arkansas, and grew up not knowing much about his mother's family.
Evie died between 1896-1897 in Crawford County, Arkansas, and was buried in Old Salem Cemetery, Crawford County. Her grave was unmarked until a grandson placed a headstone there several years later. It is believed that the dates on the tombstone were estimated...the actual dates in this memorial were obtained from the family Bible of Nelson and Minerva Anderson.
