December 22, 1936 - January 16, 2016
Betty Jane Lyons Otwell, 79, of Junction City, AR, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday January 16, 2016, while at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. Her passing was due to an unforeseen illness and saddens many who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was born in Union County to the late Delno Lyons and Minnie Harris Lyons on December 22, 1936. Betty and her husband were blessed to be a truck driving team for 19 1/2 years together. They were able to travel the country and enjoy life with each other, along with their family. She was a devoted mother, homemaker and wife. She was loved by all and known to be an extraordinarily good cook!
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold R. Otwell, one daughter, Helen Otwell Pate and husband, Chester, one son, Harold Scott Otwell, daughter-in-law Jackie Otwell, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a special friend Marina Tucker and many others that considered her part of their extended family.
A memorial service will be held on 10 am, Tuesday, January 19, at 10:00 in the chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Hugh Nelson and Rev. Larry Richmond officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday night January 18, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 p.m .
The family will be at 985 Caledonia Rd. in Junction City, AR.
