Mrs. Sallie Robertson Pepper, 93, who lived on Caledonia Road, died late Saturday night in a local nursing home following a brief illness. Born Nov. 17, 1877, in Caledonia, she was the daughter of John Walker and Sara Griffin Robertson. Mrs. Peppers, a lifelong resident of Union County, was the widow of William Thomas Pepper, and a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Lavelle Perdue, El Dorado; two grandchildren, Mrs. Basil Craig, El Dorado and the Rev. Roy Perdue, Bossier City, La.; six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Olive Branch Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Shepperson, the Rev. Stanley Wagner and the Rev. Charles Talley officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers were R. C. Taylor, R. T. Warren, J. B. Ennis, Joe P. Kinard, W. C. Powell and Jack Marrable. (El Dorado Times - February 1, 1971)
