October 31, 1939 - March 10, 2019
Jerrell R. Williams went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, March 10th, 2019. Born on October 31st, 1939. He was the son of the late D. D. “Goose” and Elaine Hall Williams of Junction City, AR.
After graduating from Louisiana Tech, he joined the Air Force Reserve and began working at Lion Oil Company of El Dorado, where he would later retire after nearly 34 years. Jerrell was a devoted Gideon and member of Grace Bible Baptist Church where he loved teaching Sunday School. He loved the outdoors and sharing morning coffee with family and friends at his cousin Larry’s catching up on the latest news. (You know who you are!) He could also be found spending time with his 8 grandchildren, all of whom he was so very proud to call his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents; youngest son, Rodney Williams and sister, Lisa Ann Walker. He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 53 years; daughter, Robin Williams of Bryant; two sons, Rick Williams and wife Kim of Little Rock and Randy Williams and wife Kristie of Alabama; four sisters, Murrell Farrar (Jerry,) Linda K. Temple (Billy,) Nancy Dodson (Joe,) Connie Hammett (Joe Paul,); brother, Danny Williams; and eight grandchildren: Douglas, Melanie and Annie Cole, Keaton Epperson and Anna, Karson, Heidi and Kate Williams.
The family appreciates all the many prayers from family, friends, local churches and devoted caregivers. A special thanks to Daphane Watson, LaTonya Moore and to all who took time to visit with him.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, March 14,2019 at Mount Union Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 PM Friday, March 15,2019 at the church with Bro. Conner Garlington and Bro. Danny Donahoe officiating. Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers, Lt. Douglas Lee Cole, Jr, Bryant Bolding, Conrad Clark, Daniel Farrar, Tracy Farrar, Jordan Hammett, Jason MacMan, and Chuck Temple.
Honorary Pallbearers include Joe Perry Courtney, Wayne Hall, Larry MacMan, and Jack Taylor.
Greeters will include Herby Pepper and Calvin Lackman.
