Mrs. Dovie Charlene Spicer, aged 50, of Route Two, died in a local hospital Monday after a long illness. Born in Daisy, Sept. 9, 1913, the daughter of Zack and Lula Rogers Young. Mrs. Spicer had lived in El Dorado since 1942. She was a member of the East Faulkner Street Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Spicer; a son, Ronnie Spicer, of Hot Springs, S. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry Evers of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. John Huddleston of Crossett; a sister, Mrs. Richard Berryman of Miami, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be had at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Est Faulkner Church of Christ with Elder Virgil Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be T. M. Bays, June Tweedle, Richard Perkins, Dewey Blackwood, Bill Barrett, Neal Lewis. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to funeral time. (The El Dorado Times - July 29, 1964)
