January 22, 1902 - June 3, 1964
Mrs. Ruby Ola Peppers, 62, of 624 Marrable Hill, died in a local hospital early Wednesday after a brief illness. Mrs. Peppers was born in El Dorado Jan. 22, 1902, the daughter of Levy and Addie Mattocks Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Mount Union Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Post; four grandchildren, J. R. Post, Jr., Mrs. Jim Bolding, Donna Ruth Post and Lavon Post; a great grandson; and three brothers, Ernest Smith, Clarence Smith and Cleg Smith, All of El Dorado. Funeral services have been announced for Thursday at 3 p.m. at Marrable Hill Chapel with the Rev. Sam Shepperson officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Smith, Joe Brazzel, Walker Smith, Morrece Smith, Nile Smith, L. Z. Peppers, Doyce Smith and Creedell Nance. The body will remain at the mortuary until time for the funeral. The Rev. Mr. Shepperson will be assisted by the Rev. Leroy Jones. (The El Dorado Times - June 3, 1964)
