April 11, 1922 - January 27, 2012
RUDY — Alvin Paul Whitson, 89, formerly of Rudy, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, in Naples, Fla. He was born April 11, 1922. He graduated from Alma High School, attended Arkansas Tech University, worked at Martin Aircraft, was a World War II Army veteran, a machinist and machine maintenance supervisor with Nabisco and attended Rudy Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial of remains at Newberry Cemetery in Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; a stepson, Harold Matthews of Naples; a sister, Hazel Parrish of Rudy; and a brother, George Whitson of Rudy.
