Hildred M. Wortham, 93, of Searcy, died Thursday, September 16. She was born March 23, 1917 in Joy, Arkansas, the daughter of Hugh and Pearl Holden.
She is survived by a son, Darrel Glen Wortham of Searcy; a brother, H. N. Holden; grandchildren, Howard Roy, Debbie Wortham Paxton, Kathy Wortham, and David Wortham; great-grandchildren Maegan Paxton, Sara Paxton, Bethany Paxton, Audrey Peterson and Sarah Roy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dillard Wortham; a daughter, Doris Miller; a son, D. W. Wortham; sisters Lillian Hopper, Dorothy Clay, Geneva Shelby, Helen Taylor and Sybil Hoofman.
Mrs. Wortham was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and a founding member of the Joy Economic Homemakers Club.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church of Joy. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net
