February 21, 1847 - January 28, 1905
This is James M. Pinson (Penson a variant spelling) 2nd child of Aristides Brown Pinson and Rachel Nicholson. He was born on 27 Feb 1847 per his parent's bible Bible page and 27 Feb 1847 per the tombstone here. The 1817 birth year should be corrected.
James married twice. I believe his first wife, Martha Tapp, died c. 1870, either in Walker Co. Georgia, where they appeared in the 1870 census, or slightly later in Crawford County, Arkansas, where James patented land.
James married 2nd Elmira Harris and the two are shown in the 1880 Crawford County census with 3 sons. The eldest two, William Robert (aka Robert W.) and Arthur were his first wive's children. The 1900 Crawford County Census showed James and Elmira with 6 of their 7 children.
Apparently they had a child who was born and died between the 1880 and 1900 censi.
