*Obituary
Louise Ruby Henington, 85, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, in a local hospital.
She was born July 19, 1930, in Oil Trough to the late, Cecil and Ester (Foster) Uhles.

She was a homemaker and a member of Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Henington; one daughter, Deana Davis; and one grandson, Matthew Davis.

She had friends who spanned four generations whom she considered her family. She was a person of faith, love, independence and baking. Her faith in Christ was unwavering in both word and deed. She cared for others and trusted Christ as her savior. She told her family, “At night I take out my teeth and hearing aid, say my prayers and go to sleep. If Jesus takes me, than I’m ready to go.”

She loved attending Freewill Baptist Church and bringing coconut pies to church dinner. Her love of people extended far beyond her family to her many friends who stopped by for a visit, out for a drive and lunch. Her independent spirit was shown by her desire to live in her home and drive herself. Her night out was being driven by a friend to Mountainburg Senior Center to attend what she affectionately called “Music” on Thursday evening. Lou was a consummate baker of coconut and friend apple pies and cookies. She enjoyed baking them and giving them to her friends, doctor, auto mechanic and neighbors. She will be remember as a woman whose price is far above rubies and her GREAT pies.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church with interment at Newberry Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Murphy and husband Dennis of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, John Baker and wife Lou Jean of Melbourne, Fla.; one son-in-law, Larry Davis of Van Buren; one sister, Carol Sue Stuckey and husband Chester of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Casey, Lauren, Timothy, Ruthie, Marc, Leatha and Kelsey; and five great-grandchildren, Zachery, Riley, Kaden, Quentin and Cleo.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Davis, Zachery Davis, Timothy Baker, Casey Thornsberry, Kelsey Dolan and Larry Davis.
