Jack R. Masterson, who resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at his home. He was born June 21, 1937, in the Arbuckle Island community near Lavaca to the late James Riley Masterson and Linnie May (Pruitt) Masterson. He was 80 years old. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (White) Masterson; and one brother, James Masterson.
Jack was a missionary, and he served in the mission field for 32 years in Brazil. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Kyle A. Horton officiating. Burial will be at Eubanks Cemetery, located west of Cecil, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Zilda; three daughters, Sandy Jones of Biloxi, Mississippi, Dusty King and husband Randy of Fayetteville, and Misty Masterson Baker and husband W. Aaron of Siloam Springs; two sons, James Masterson of Lavaca and Rusty Masterson and wife Dee Anna of Lavaca; one sister, Jerri Ruth Kizer of Alma; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy King, W. Aaron Baker, Dallas King, Clayton Masterson, Rusty Masterson, and James Masterson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Reed and Jerry Walker.
