Rose Mary Newton, 73, of Bloomer, Arkansas died Thursday, October 6, 2005, in her home. She was born January 12, 1932, in Branch, Arkansas. She was a piano teacher, a member of Bloomer Baptist Church and church pianist, and a member of the Sebastian County Election Board.

Memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bloomer Baptist Church. The body was cremated under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Brenda, Donna and Paula; two sons; two sisters, Claudine, and Martha; two brothers, James and Bobby; a stepbrother, Jerry and five grandchildren.

Ms. Donna Lois Newton of Bloomer, Arkansas, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in her home. Ms. Newton was 48 years, 6 months, and 26 days old.

Ms. Newton was born November 23, 1960 in Trona, California to Murl Dean Newton and to the late Rose Mary Chastain Newton. She was a 1978 graduate of Charleston High School and was a member of the Bloomer Baptist Church.

Ms. Newtonis preceded in death by her mother: Rose Newton.
She is survived by her father: Murl Newton, of Bloomer; two sisters: Brenda Niemeyer & husband Terry, of Alexander City, Alabama and Paula Binford & husband John, of Midlothian, Texas; two brothers: Rick Newton of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Steve Newton & wife Sherry, of Bloomer, Arkansas; one niece: Stephanie Turner, four nephews: Richard Newton, Cory Newton, John David Binford and Jared Binford; church family and dear friends.

The body was cremated under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Bloomer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Goodrum officiating, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Murl Dean Newton, 89, of Bloomer went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. He was born September 14, 1929 in Cecil AR to parents Cordia and Troy Newton.
Murl served in the US Army and received a World War ll Victory Medal. He loved to hunt and fish with his brothers & spend time together at their cabin on the river. He definitely had a green thumb and maintained a beautiful vegetable garden for many years.
Murl was preceded in death by his wife Rose Mary Newton, daughter Donna Newton, son Steve Newton and brothers Ed and Harmon Newton.

He is survived by one son, Rick Newton of Ft. Smith AR; two daughters, Brenda Niemeyer & husband Terry of Springdale AR and Paula Binford & husband John of Venus TX; one granddaughter Stephanie Turner of Elm Springs AR; four grandsons, Richard Newton of Charleston AR, Cory Newton of Philadelphia PA, John David Binford of Santo TX, and Jared Binford of Midlothian TX; six great-grandchildren, Cherysh Newton of Charleston AR, Rylee & Lincoln Binford of Santo TX and Jayson, Jaxsen & Jolie Binford of Midlothian TX; two sisters, Shirley Thrift & husband Arlin of Lavaca AR and Janice Berkshire of Cave Springs AR.

It was Murl and Rose's desire to have their ashes, along with those of their daughter Donna, to be buried together. We will have a celebration of life and a graveside service at the Eubanks Cemetery in Cecil at a later date to honor their wishes.
