OBITUARY - Southwest Times Record - February 12, 2009
Clara Belle Davis, 70, of Van Buren died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in a local hospital. She was a licensed practical nurse for 32 years at St. Scholastica Convent in Ft. Smith, a member of the New Heights Baptist Church in Alma, and a lifelong resident of Crawford County.
She was preceded in death by both parents and a half-sister, Reba Baker.
She is survived by her husband, William E. "Bill" Davis of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Driver of Van Buren and Sherry Dye of Alma; one step-daughter, Lea Davis of Alma; one son, Samuel Hunter of Van Buren; one step-son, Bill Davis of Benton, AR; four sisters, Gladys Hanserd and Azana O'Kelley both of Alma, Norma Williams and Linda Rogers both of Van Buren; two brothers, Frank Peters of Monave, AZ and Cornelious Peters of Van Buren; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00p at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Interment will be at Newberry Chapel Cemetery north of Alma, AR.
Pallbearers will be Brian Skinner, John England Jr., Dewayne Hunter, Davey Edgar, Jordan Watson and Robert Parson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Services under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Clara was also preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel N. Hunter.
Clara married her second husband, William Elmer Davis on April 7, 1982 in Fort Smith, Sebastion County, Arkansas.
