Wilbur Layton Davenport of Pryor, Oklahoma, was born January 9th, 1921 in Rudy, Arkansas to John L Davenport and Myrtle Hancock Davenport. W.L. passed away at the age of 90 on December 12th, in Tahlequah Oklahoma.

He married Lovis (Happy) Hardt on September 26, 1948 in San Antonio Texas. Wilbur was a WW II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps as an Airplane Crew Chief. He attended Alma High School, College of the Ozarks and the University of Arkansas and was a member of the Bryan Chapel Methodist Church in Boatman. Wilbur was employed by the John Deere Plant in Pryor, beginning in 1954, and later by NIPAK. He retired at the age of 58 to take up ranching full time.

Wilbur is survived by his wife Lovis; two sons and their wives; two daughters and their husbands; seven grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

Brothers Jack, Jim, Jerry and sister Millie preceded him death.

Funeral Services are to be held Thursday morning, December 15, 2011 in the Bryan Chapel Methodist Church, Boatman Oklahoma, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Newberry Cemetery in Rudy, Arkansas with graveside services to be held at 3:00 PM on the December 15th. This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 12/14/2011.

Lovis H. "Happy" Davenport of Pryor Oklahoma departed this life peacefully in her home on October 24, 2012. Happy was born in Big Wells, Texas to Louis and Lydia (Vetter) Hardt.

Happy graduated from Bastrop High School in Bastrop, Texas with the class of 1941. She attended Lon Morris Junior College at Jacksonville, Texas. Happy received her Bachelors of Education Degree at the University of Texas, Austin and her Masters at Northeastern State University, Tahlequah. She taught school in Cactus, Texas, Springdale, Arkansas, Whitaker State Children's Home and completed her 38 year career at Pryor High School. Happy was married to Wilbur Layton Davenport on September 26, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas; he preceded her in death on December 12, 2011.

Happy was a member of the Bryan Chapel Methodist Church in Boatman. She was very active in the church and had a crucial part in getting the church restarted. She played the piano at the church up until a year ago. Happy belonged to Kappa Kappa Iota, Argonauts, Retired Teachers both state and county and Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Stephen F. Austin Chapter. She enjoyed traveling and reading about traveling and history, especially anything to do with Texas. Happy also liked to sew, quilt and fish. She was a very outgoing person and lived life to the fullest.
