Jimmy Hugh Davenport of Alma, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in Fort Smith while holding his daughters hand Tuesday morning, December 14th, 2010 at the age of 78.
Jim was born December 23, 1931 in Alma and while his life took him many places, he did come home to spend his last years in Alma.

Jim was a decorated Veteran of the Korean War where he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired supervisor for Therma-Tru in Van Buren.

He was a beloved Husband, Father, Uncle, Brother and friend.

He is survived by wife Stella Davenport of Alma, AR; one son, Jim Davenport and his wife Jeanette of Saint Louis, MO; one daughter, Paula (Davenport) Moellering of Alma, AR; two sisters, Dorothy Wiemann of Alma, AR and Joann Rogers of Alma, AR; three brothers, Harold Davenport of Pryor, OK, Wilbur Davenport of Pryor, OK, and Sandy Davenport of Biloxi, MS; three grandchildren, Bridget and Matthew Davenport and Evan Hugh Moellering; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2010 at Newberry Chapel Church in Alma with burial at Newberry Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Barry Davenport, Kent Davenport, Mark Davenport, Scott Rogers, Bruce Davenport, and Ryan Davenport.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Hatley and Chad Powell.
