Rickey Lee Lewis, age 55 of Monticello passed away at his home on Monday, February 12, 2018. He was born on December 14, 1962 to the late Catherine Anne Batts Lewis and the late Ridgell Collins.
He was educated in the Monticello Public School in Drew County. He dedicated his life to God at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Paul Everett, Sr. He was employed by Chapman Lawn Service, where he worked for 20 plus years until his health failed. He loved his job in lawn care, working puzzles, music and playing with his nephews, nieces, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Lamar Lewis, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son that he raised as his own, Martanious D'Shaun Cox of Little Rock; six brothers, Mark (Annette) Batts of Austin, TX, Keith (Catrena) Lewis of Monticello, Rodney Lewis of Dumas, Lamar (Diane) Lewis of Fordyce, Anthony Lewis of Monticello and Marcus Withers of Little Rock. He also leaves five sisters, Wanda (Charles) Montgomery of Texarkana, TX, Shelia (Charles) Lee, Vanessa (Tommy) Daniels and Kandice Lambert all of Monticello, Millicent Gillespie of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Brooks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
