SPRINGDALE — Fred Lester Fields, age 91, of Springdale died May 11, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born April 22, 1920, in Cave Springs, Ark., the son of Claud and Rhoda Ford Fields.
He was of the Assembly of God faith and was retired from Daisy Manufacturing Company. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded by one brother; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Fields is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruby Woodell Fields, of the home; one son, Warren Fields and his wife, Holly, of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Janice Jones of Moline, Ill., and Darla Wooton of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Dale Fields of Cave Springs and Claud Fields Jr. of Tontitown; one sister, Oletha Shuler of Johnson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery, with Howard Ferguson officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
There will not be any visitation. Memorials may be made to a church or charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.memfuneral.com.

Ruby Marie Fields, 98, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord March 12, 2020. She was born May 02, 1921 in Elm Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson and Nellie Stanley Woodell. Ruby was proud of playing basketball for the Elm Springs High School and was a graduate in the last graduating class for that school in 1939. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and picking up black walnuts. She had worked for Oberman Garment Factory in Fayetteville, Arkansas and was also a Beautician. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Fields; grandsons, Shelby Bumgarner, Joey Roso and granddaughter Rhonda Whitehead.
She is survived by her son, Warren Fields (Holly) of Rogers, Arkansas; daughters, Janice Jones of Moline, Illinois, and Darla Wootton of Springdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Greg Fields (Giuliana), Kelly Eichler (Bobby), Andrea Whitehead, Bryan Whitehead (Kari), Jason Bumgarner (Becky), Danica Rogers (Dan); eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and her special friend, Claude (Junior) Fields.
Private burial was in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
