Tom Duran of Searcy graduated to glory on January 24, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1941, in Santa Barbara, California.
Tom has been married to his wife, Diane and passed away on their 61st Anniversary. They have three adult children. Debbie, David, and Danny. They have given them eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Tom’s life’s dream was to own his own restaurant. In Searcy he realized his dream with the town’s first Mexican restaurant called Tom’s Place. After Tom’s Place, he joined KFC and spent sixteen years serving the community. He had an infectious laugh and a pleasing personality. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He loved the Lord and we are celebrating his remarkable life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Jane Duran, sister Pauline Luera.
Survived by wife, Diane; daughter, Debbie; sons, David (Rossanna), Danny (Rebecca) ; one sister, Vera; many nieces, nephews, and Gooch (Shannon Hazlitt); 8 Grandchildren, Bethany, Thomas, Danielle, Veronica, Aaron, Kayla, Daelin, Mia; 11 Great grandchildren, Cloey, Malikai, Cullen, Haydon, Gaebrial, Lydia, Stella, Ellie, Genebee, John, Kairi.
Visitation will be at Searcy First Assembly of God on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Weir Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
