White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, January 23, 1997:
Mary Ethel Brockwell, daughter of the late John Frank and Rosa Dovie Smith Kent, was born in Newburg September 9, 1907. She died January 15, 1997 in Calico Rock. She was 89.
Mrs. Brockwell was united in marriage in 1927 to Thomas Brockwell in Brockwell. She served as the postmistress of Brockwell for many years. She was a member of the New Liberty Church of Christ.
Survivors include one sister, Jewell Blankenship of Newburg; two brothers, Herman Kent of Wenatchee, Washington; and J. B. Kent of Brockwell and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Brent Barnes, Allen Estes, Victor Estes, Danny Edwards, Fred Blankenship and Lowell Melton. Honorary pallbearers were Rebel Simmons, Lloyd Garner, Orgel Mason and Osburn Walker.
