BENTONVILLE - Meredith Ann (Stegall) Janes, of Bentonville, Ark., beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died Dec. 20, 2018. She was born on Aug. 21, 1934, in Kewanee, Ill., to Thelma Lillian (Smith) Stegall and Russell Max Stegall.

Meredith graduated from Weathersfield High School (Kewanee, Ill.) in 1952 and St. Luke's School of Radiology (Chicago, Ill.) in 1955. Upon graduation, Meredith moved to Decatur, Ill., where she met a fellow Kewanee native and her future husband of 55 years, Frank Everett Janes. Meredith and Frank moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 2001.

Meredith loved gardening, music, art and her family. She was past president of Bella Vista Gardening Club, one of the first volunteers at Crystal Bridges Museum and a member of Bella Vista Community Church.

Meredith is survived by her daughter, Janet Lynn (Janes) Davis of Bentonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Alexander Davis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rebecca Davis of Dallas, Texas; cousin Leora (Smith) Stanard of Kewanee, Ill., and many friends.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 N.E. Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark., 72712.
