BENTONVILLE — Frank Everett Janes of Bentonville, Ark., a devoted husband and father, died March 22, 2011. He was born on Jan. 21, 1931, in Kewanee, Ill., to Charlotte Dennis Janes and Everett Charles Janes.
Frank graduated from Kewanee High School and Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. He was a first lieutenant, Infantry, in the U.S. Army and served in Korea.
Frank started his working career as a disc jockey, and then joined A.E. Staley Mfg. Co., in Decatur, Ill. He loved nature, and as founding father, established the Conservation District of Macon County and served on the board for many years. Upon retirement, Frank and his wife moved to Bella Vista, Ark.
Frank loved skeet shooting, hunting with buddies, fishing, boating, reading and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Meredith Stegall Janes of Bentonville, Ark.; daughter, Janet Davis, and grandchildren, Alexander Davis and Rebecca Davis, all of Dallas, Texas; sister, Kathryn Janes McClelland; brother-in-law, Dr. David McClelland; niece, Sarah McClelland; nephew, John McClelland, his wife, Lora, and children, Connor and Donovan, all of Rockford, Ill.; and cousins in Tulsa, Okla., Harrisburg, Pa., Los Angeles, Calif.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at the Mildred B. Copper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd,. Bella Vista, Ark.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Blood Center, Attn: Meredith Bolt, 3503 S. Thompson, Springdale, AR 72764.
