Lillian A. Chatelain, 88, of Hot Springs, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. She was born in Buckville, Arkansas on December 22, 1921 to Silas Albert and Helen Pearl Williamson.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Chatelain and children, Phillip Wayne Chatelain of Rowlette, Texas, Charles (Susan) Chatelain of Melissa, Texas, and Susan (Larry) Young of Greenbrier, Arkansas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Surviving siblings are sisters Velma Iglehart of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Carol Livingston of Wetherford, Texas, as well as brother Albert Williamson, Jr. of El Paso, Texas.

During World War II she served 2 ½ years in the Navy Waves as Store Keeper 1st class.

She graduated from Brians Business School after the war and worked as the financial secretary at the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center. She chose to become a full-time homemaker and raised her three children and still found time to attend Henderson State College and practiced substitute teaching in the Hot Springs Public School System.

She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, singing, and reading. She always put other’s needs in front of her own and will be missed greatly by her family who love her dearly.

Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery.
