NEWTOWN — Marie Ruthylene Steward, 95, of Newtown died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Alma. She was a homemaker and member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.
Wife of Ellis Joe Steward
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kibler Baptist Church with burial at Beal Cemetery in Newtown under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Chaney of Newtown; a son, John Steward of Seattle.; 64 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Dixon Jr., Kenneth, Bobby, Henry and Rodney Steward, Randall Chaney, Joseph Dixon and Willie Medlock.
