Clifton Coleman, Jr., age 66, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

He was born on November 23, 1950 in Hot Springs, the son of Clifton Coleman, Sr. and Corine King Coleman. On June 7, 1975, he married Kristina West. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clifton was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle. He received his Bachelors Degree from Henderson State University and his Doctorate Law Degree from Arizona State University. He worked for many years for the Arkansas Secretary of State office and the Hot Springs School District in special education. He also was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Clifton was a board member of the Hot Springs Sister City Program and was a basketball coach at the Hot Springs YMCA for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Kristina Coleman of Hot Springs; his son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Melissa Coleman of Springdale; two grandchildren, Kora Coleman and Stockton Coleman, both of Springdale; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carlton Coleman , Clinton and Janice Coleman, all of Hot Springs and Louellen West of Springdale; one sister, Carolyn Hughes of Hot Springs Village; nephews; Wyatt Hughes, Russell Hughes and Cedric Hughes; one niece, JesSemma Henderson; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle with Rev. Dennis Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Glen Ellis, Milton Yeaman, Gilbert Garrett, Obie Staggs, Bearbra Coleman, Jr., Ronnie Graham, Donnie Graham and Noah Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ichiro Fudai, Tomoyuki Kimura and the Men of Judea at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle.

Memorials may be made to the Hot Springs Sister City Program, the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
