November 14, 1928 - January 7, 2011
Dolores Nancy Gatto Larkin passed away Friday, January 7 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Geraldine Gatto; her brothers, Donald Gatto and Virgil Gatto Jr.; and sister, Geraldine Gatto Bragg. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carl Henry Larkin; daughters, Donna Larkin of Sherwood, AR and Kathie Larkin Turner (Craig) of Redlands, CA; sisters Colleen Newton (Murray) of Raleigh, NC and Marianne Gatto of Toms River, NJ; plus several nieces, nephews and special friend, Kathy Moore. Dolores was previously employed in the Trust Department of Arkansas Bank & Trust and Selected Funeral and Life Insurance Company. Dolores was a person who loved to have fun, enjoyed interacting with people, and had an adventurous spirit. She loved to learn and took many classes over the years, especially intrigued with computer software. She enjoyed working in the yard. Nicknamed the Energizer Bunny, she was a strong person who endured and overcame multiple health issues and enjoyed a bonus year with her family during 2010-11. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary starting at 7:00 pm at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A Catholic mass will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Marys Catholic Church with Father Alan Rosenau officiating. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marys Catholic Church, 100 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71913 or St. Josephs Mercy Health Center, 300 Werner Street, Hot Springs, AR 71913. The family is grateful for the care given by the doctors and the nurses at St. Josephs Mercy Health Center and her caregivers from Home Instead.
