*When Clarence Earl Essig was born on August 8, 1914, in McRae, Arkansas, his father, Charles, was 19 and his mother, Susie, was 32. He married Clara Dorothy Porphir (Essig)(Smith) on September 16, 1938. They had three children during their marriage. He died on February 6, 1965, in Beebe, Arkansas, at the age of 50, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
