February 7, 1934 - December 20, 2018
Bobby Joe Dodd, 84, of Hot Springs passed away Thursday December 20, 2018. He was born February 7, 1934 to the late Ernest and Hattie Dodd.
Joe retired from the Hot Springs Police Department after 20 years of service; retired from the Oaklawn Jockey Club as Mutual Supervisor after 32 years; retired from the Arkansas State Police as a driver license examiner after 14 years.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Raymond Dodd.
Survived by his loving wife, Helen Dodd; one son, Scotty (Charlotte) Dodd; two grandchildren, Nick (Brooke) Dodd and Natalie (Keith) Carter; three great grandchildren, Hayden Dodd, Hannah Dodd and Austin Carter; one brother, Darel (Sharon) Dodd of Hot Springs; one sister, Sandy (John) Sparks of Dallas, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Tom Reed of Traskwood and Bob (Joyce) Reed of New York; a special niece, Jan Everight of Hot Springs; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kevin Hale; Hot Springs Police Department and Arkansas State Police.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Hot Springs Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
